Advancement Via Individual Determination, is an elective class that is designed to increase school wide learning and performance. This course teaches the soft skills and academic skills to be successful in College. Students’ schedules are designed to give them the highest rigor courses they can complete successfully.
What students should take AVID?
AVID targets students in the academic middle - B, C, and even D students
Students who have the desire to go to college and the willingness to work hard 14
Students who are capable of completing rigorous curriculum, but are falling short of their potential
Students who are first in their families to attend college
You are not required to meet all of the above statements to take the AVID Elective Class.
