Parents, there is an exciting event and program coming up for our female students: Scroll to the bottom to see the flyer (in English and Spanish) or download it from the link above: The University of Utah invites young girls to participate in its Go Girlz program, which is free! Powered by the Women’s Resource Center on campus, the Go Girlz program strives to build a learning community of students with diverse cultural, racial/ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds in order to co-create the possibility of higher education for underserved populations in higher education, these include communities of color, first-generation and economically disadvantaged female students. The program focuses on topics like body image, self-esteem, gender roles, communication, role models, and other areas to help young women breakthrough and achieve their goals. In addition to the workshops offered, the program provides mentorship and services to help young women get on the right track to attend a higher education institution. The Go Girlz Parent Night is just around the corner and we want to invite parents of young women to attend to learn more about the program: Date: Friday, September 2, 2016 Time: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Location: Goodwill Humanitarian Building, 395 South 1500 East, Salt Lake City UT With Go Girlz workshops beginning the week of September 6, we want to begin sharing the benefits of this program with girls and show them that we can help prepare them for higher education and beyond.
