Good afternoon, Crusaders!!!
Last Thursday we had our Honor Roll Party for our 8th grade students who received a 3.5 GPA or higher for 4th quarter last year. Students received a certificate and a treat, and students with a 4.0 GPA received a special Kennedy car charger as an additional prize! We are so proud of these students for being Respectful, Accountable, and Connected. Their hard work and effort is appreciated and is making a great difference in our school. Today, counselors taught in 8th grade math classrooms. We discussed the importance of 8th grade, how it relates to and affects 9th grade and high school, and we learned how to calculate our own GPAs based on our current grades. Thank you to Mrs. Bajraktarevic, Ms. Hoefer, Ms. Mitchell, and Mr. Rappleye for their support and input in helping our 8th grade students connect their current learning to high school! If your student was not at school today, here is the presentation for you to view at home: Thank you to all who came and participated at Parent Teacher Conference! It's always good to see family and friends invested in their students' education. Counselors will also be checking in with students to help them set goals of improving their grades and attendance.
Next week, counselors will be visiting 8th grade math classrooms to talk about how to be successful and prepare this year to enter into high school. Please help your students to be present and on time every day! That is one of the biggest indicators and predictors of school success! Also, check out the October scholarship HERE. Two more weeks until Fall Break!! What a great few days so far! We have noticed Crusaders being so thoughtful and kind to one another as we've been walking through the halls. We have seen students help one another find classes, open lockers, and sit with others who were alone at lunch. Thank you for being so connected. We are so impressed and proud of our wonderful students! Please make sure to try even harder to be on time to each class as we will soon be enforcing the tardy policy in full! Attention, ARTISTS AND WRITERS!!! There is a great competition that you can be a part of! This is not a scholarship, but if you receive an award or recognition, your work will be displayed at the gallery at Granite School District for everyone to enjoy!
