Attention students and parents--the following activity is open to current 9-12 grade female students, so current Kennedy students are not eligible at this time, but if you know of anyone else who would be interested, or you would like to keep this on your radar for next year, take note!! On behalf of the Utah State University Society of Women Engineers, female students (grades 9-12) interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are invited to join Utah State University for Engineering Extravaganza on March 23-24, 2018. Event Description: Explore engineering by performing experiments, hearing from women currently in industry, talking to professors, attending discipline specific workshops and meeting current students. Visit the USU Observatory and learn about electric art before diving into programming, DNA, structures, and so much more! Registration is $20.00 and includes food and lodging at the Utah State University Logan Campus. Registration will be capped at 65 students, opens mid February and closes March 11th. 8th Graders -- If you did not attend Hunter High's 9th Grade Registration Night on the 18th, come get your card in the Counseling Center. Even if you plan on special permitting to another school, until you have received notification that your permit has been accepted, YOU MUST REGISTER AT YOUR HOME HIGH SCHOOL. If you do not, your high school classes will be chosen for you and you may not like the results. That goes for Granger and Kearns students as well. DO NOT ASSUME YOUR PERMIT WILL BE ACCEPTED. High schools are very full right now, and their special permits are limited. Hunter High Counselors will be outside US History classrooms on January 25th to collect your cards and answer any last minute questions. Granger High's Freshman Faire will be Tuesday, January 30th at 6:00 pm. 7th Graders -- Make sure you come to the Crusader Showcase on JANUARY 24th at 6:00 pm. You are welcome to fill out and turn in your class selection card at that time. We will be coming into your College and Career Awareness Classes to fill out and collect any missing class selection cards for 8th grade during the week of February 5-9. Please bring your card filled out to class, otherwise, we will pick classes then and there. If you are not present, we will select your classes without your input and you may not like the results. Please be ACCOUNTABLE this week in picking your classes and coming prepared. Incoming 6th Graders -- Make sure you come to the Crusader Showcase on JANUARY 24th at 6:00 pm. You are welcome to fill out and turn in your class selection card at that time. Counselors will be visiting your elementary schools the following week of January 29-February 2. See the Calendar for the specific date we will be visiting your elementary school. Please bring your class selection card filled out. We will be coming to collect any cards that were not turned in during the Showcase and to help you fill out your cards if you are not able to attend the Showcase. Any cards we do not receive during that time, we will choose your schedules for you and you may not like the results. Parents, please help our new Crusaders practice being Respectful, Accountable, and Connected by helping them be prepared for class selection. Welcome back, Crusaders!
